| Text | LOIS O. (PENSINGER) PRICE FETTERS, 80, of 5850 Fairway Drive West, Fayetteville, died at 7:55 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in Chambers burg Hospital. She had been in failing health since April 1999 and critically ill for the past two weeks. Born Sept. 10, 1919, in Shady Grove, she was the daughter of the late David H. "Harry" and Verda (Hoover) Pensinger. She lived her early life in Shady Grove, Waynes-boro and Boiling Springs. She and her first husband, John Clayton Price, were married Aug. 23, 1946, in Augusta, Maine. Mr. Price died October 9, 1968. She then married Albert William Fetters on Nov. 17, 1972 in Waynesboro. Mr. Fetters lives in Carnegie. Following her first marriage, she lived in the Waynesboro area and then following her second marriage, she lived in Baltimore. Mrs. Fetters moved to the Penn National Estate address in 1985. Mrs. Fetters attended Sycamore one-room school from first through third grades and then graduated from Boiling Springs High School with the Class of 1937. Part of her eighth grade was in Snider Avenue School, Waynesboro. In 1938, she attended Wilford Academy of Beauty Culture in Philadelphia. After her beauty school educa-tion, Mrs. Fetters worked in the Philadelphia area for a* short time. She then owned and operated her own beauty shop in Waynesboro from 1941 through 1948. From 1955 through 1966, she operated a shop out of her home. For two years prior to retiring in 1972, she was a hostess in the Travel Lodge Dining Room, Waynesboro. Mrs. Fetters was a member of Solomon Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg. She was an avid golfer and a member of Penn National Golf Club, Fayetteville. Mrs. Fetters is survived by one son, J. Douglas Price of Chambers-burg; two stepsons, Richard W. Fet-ters of South Dennis, Mass., and David E. Fetters of Port Deposit, Md.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara H. Pensinger of Edmonds, Wash.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Fetters was preceded in death by one son, Stephen A. Price in 1956; one stepgrandson, Jason Fetters in 1987; one brother, Clyde H. Pensinger in 1955; and one half brother, Paul D. Pensinger in 1981. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Michael E. Allewein officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Ceme-tery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funer-al home. | |
